Description

The Winterthur Estate sofa is all aluminum, from the pierced mesh back panels to the cast urn-profile arms to the seat deck itself, and that construction is what allows a 75 inch sofa with this much ornament to live outdoors. A 73 inch seat means almost the entire width is usable seating, since the flat tapered arms take up very little.

## Design and Construction
The frame is premium, weather resistant powder-coated aluminum with an aluminum seat deck rather than straps or mesh. The back panels are pierced aluminum in a mesh pattern, capped at each end of the top rail with aluminum finials, a detail drawn from the classical Klismos vocabulary the collection interprets. The arms are cast aluminum with an urn profile, tapering to a flat top. Because every structural element is metal, there is no wood or webbing to fail, and the powder coat is architectural-quality, applied generously and baked on for outdoor service.

## Comfort and Seating
The seat spans 73 inches at 21 inches deep, set at a 22 inch height with arms at 24 inches. That 22 inch seat height is tall for an outdoor sofa, which makes it comfortable for a range of ages and easy to stand up from, and it keeps the sofa reading as a formal piece rather than a lounge. Three adults sit across it. The low 24 inch arms sit close above the cushion, so the pierced back panels remain the visual focus.
