Description
Wide paddle arms and cast aluminum leg turnings give the Hemingway Islands sofa its West Indies posture, and cane weave panels set into the arms carry the tropical detail through. At 85 inches wide with a 77-inch seat, it is the longest seating piece in the collection and the one that sets the tone for the whole group.
## Design and Construction
The frame is rust and mildew resistant premium cast and wrought aluminum with a powder-coated finish, combined with woven wicker panels, over a PVC strap seat deck. Cast aluminum forms the legs and arms, where the weight and the turned detail matter, while wrought aluminum decor is worked into the back panels. It is a mixed-material construction: metal where strength shows, weave where texture does. The finish is Black Truffle, a matte coloration offered only as shown.
## Comfort and Seating
The seat spans 77 inches at 22 inches deep with a 20-inch seat height, and the paddle arms sit at 24 inches. That arm height and width is the point of the piece: broad enough to rest a forearm along, low enough to lie back against with a pillow. Three sit across it comfortably. At 154 pounds the sofa is genuinely heavy, so choose its position on the terrace before delivery day.
